5.0 out of 5 stars Easy and incredibly tasty, November 16, 2011

My wife and I enjoy our couscous with some olive oil, black truffle salt, and ground black pepper. It has a delicious taste and it has always been extremely easy to make. Also, at 10 minutes, it usually takes less time to cook than whatever protein we're having.

The first time I ate these I was hooked! I quickly began
my search for the best price, etc. I love these containers!
They keep them fresh and easy to locate and organize on the
shelf.

I add a little olive oil, broccoli and pine nuts! Outstanding!

This is my first time trying couscous. I followed the instructions except that i cooked mine in the microwave with a lid on. It turned out really good and I am very happy with the fresh aroma and the taste of this food product.

Pardina Lentils, Spanish Brown | 100% USA Grown | 5lbs | GMO Free (We Tell You What Field We Grew It In)

Product Description

The Mader family has been involved in agriculture for five generations. Our farm operations span across the south east part of Washington State and are headquartered in Pullman, WA. In 2001 we acted on an opportunity to add a processing facility to our operation. Our Processing Plant, Wallace Grain and Pea is located in Palouse, WA - just a short drive from Pullman. Wallace Grain and Pea first opened its doors in the 1930's. The plant was designed for quality not quantity and has processed grains for the international market and domestic consumption. We take a raw food product and process it into food grade edible product. Our food is appealing to our consumers because of the nutritional and aesthetic values. In 2006 we became "Food Alliance" certified. Steve & Kevin Mader take farming to another level by planting, harvesting and then processing your food through our processing plant. We can tell you exactly which field your product was grown in and we add no preservatives to our foods. From, " OUR FIELD TO YOUR FORK", quality is what we are about.

  • We grow it, harvest it, truck it, process it, bag it and get it to you - it never touches a middleman.
  • High Protein
  • Makes great Lentil Salads and Soups
  • Product shipped in burlap bag to extend shelf life and prevent bleaching.
  • Bags are hand filled and sewn.

My husband and I love to cook. We just ordered all the Palouse Brand products and are so excited about the quality of each of them. We had many ask for the recipe, but it wasn't the recipe it was the great quality of our ingredients. Palouse brand isn't just packaged cutely it is the real deal. If you like to cook this product is a must try! Thanks Palouse brand for bringing fresh, great ingredients to my family table!

This review is from: Pardina Lentils, Spanish Brown | 100% USA Grown | 5lbs | GMO Free (We Tell You What Field We Grew It In) (Misc.)
Palouse Brand Lentils are the best lentils I have ever had. These lentils hold their shape and texture, they are tender, and the taste is beyond compare. They are great is soups, salads, chilli, you name it. This company produces a lentil that is a true connoisseur's delight and well worth the dollars. "Palouse Brand" is delivering on their promise of an outstanding product!

5.0 out of 5 stars The BEST Lentils!, October 15, 2011
By
This review is from: Pardina Lentils, Spanish Brown | 100% USA Grown | 5lbs | GMO Free (We Tell You What Field We Grew It In) (Misc.)
Pardina lentils are my favorite. They hold their shape when cooked so, being a vegetarian, they are great as a meat substitute in things like sloppy joes or casseroles. The dryland hills of the Palouse in eastern Washington and northern Idaho produce the best lentils, dry peas, garbanzo beans and wheat, much of which are exported to India and Asia. Pardinas are great in soups, salads, casseroles and rice pilafs. Palouse Brand are the only brand of lentils in my kitchen.

5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect rice for making sushi, November 30, 2009

This review is from: Sushi Rice Japanese style - 5 lb (Expedited Shipping) (Misc.)
Kokuho Rose is a variety of medium-grained rice developed and grown in California by Koda Farms. It is very similar to Japanese rice (japonica), which is short-grained and fat. Introduced to the American market in 1963, it is well-suited for Japanese cuisine because it's very sticky and glutinous, having the same taste and texture as Japanese rice. It is a very popular choice for making sushi because it is relatively easy to find and inexpensive.

To make sushi rice, the kernels have to be washed until the water is clear, then steamed. I use an electric rice cooker like Panasonic SRG06FG 3-Cup Automatic Rice Cooker, but you can get fancier ones that cost upwards of $100. Cooked perfectly, the grains are firm, slightly elastic and have a shiny, pearl-like luster.

You should be able to find this at your local Asian... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Exceptional Rice!, February 23, 2007
This review is from: Sushi Rice Japanese style - 5 lb (Expedited Shipping) (Misc.)
I've tasted different rice varieties and this one is incomparable in taste and texture. Some of you may be skeptical but this special variety is short and plump but has a nice shine and not brittle when it is steamed. Also the texture is smooth as you eat it along with your favorite foods. Excellent for sushi. People who like their cooked rice a bit glutinuous will love this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Sushi, May 14, 2007
By
This review is from: Sushi Rice Japanese style - 5 lb (Expedited Shipping) (Misc.)
This was recommended on a Sushi making site and I can see why. The difference in the Sushi from last time to this time was tremendous, and the only difference was the rice that I used.
