Bag (Grocery) Loving everything Italian, I started cooking with farro when I first saw it, but my local, reasonably-priced imported supply was undependable or way too expensive when they got in a different brand. When I went on-line to find a good, well-priced source, this product was the answer to my search. The price to buy two 3-lb bags of Roland Farro plus the shipping was very much in line with the reasonable price I had been paying locally. The grain is absolutely delightful and of the highest quality. I just made one of my favorite Italian recipes,a soup, using this brand of farro and it is delizioso! I'm so happy to be able to count on getting this regularly, delivered speedily to my door and am looking forward to summer farro salads and exploring other recipes using this beautiful, healthful product. 13 of 13 people found the following review helpful By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Roland Farro, 3 lbs. Bag (Grocery) I had been reading about Farro for a while and was very curious to try it. I purchased the 3 pound bag because it was a great price. The first thing I did was make a Farro Mac and Cheese that was featured in Rachael Ray's magazine. My husband went insane, he loved it so much. Its a very hearty grain, but is also very creamy....almost like barley....making it a great addition for soups, salads and casseroles. I froze the leftovers and they held up very, very well. My only complaint was in the packaging...there wasn't instructions on how to prepare it. Just a specific recipe using Farro as an ingredient. However, I looked it up online and was able to find a lot of basic preparation recipes. It seems like whenever I read about a new ingredient and can't find it at any of my local grocery stores, I can always find it at Amazon. I will definitely purchase this again! 18 of 20 people found the following review helpful By Joanne "Gotta Eat, Gotta Cook" (Long Island, NY) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Roland Farro, 3 lbs. Bag (Grocery) Easy and fast to cook up, nice substitute for brown rice, barley, bulgar, etc...mild tasting and high fiber. Good hot as a side dish/pilaf, or used room temp/cold in summer salads. Has 3 grams of fiber per 1/4 cup dry. |
